Refund policy.
Effective 26 September 2026
Choosing your region shows the sections that differ by law. Sections that don't vary by region are shown either way.
1. Faulty purchases: refunded in full, without a time limit
If Claude Keychain does not do what it is described as doing, for reasons within our control, including the app failing to install, a license key that will not activate, the Keychain or Claude Code connection not working, or a duplicate or mistaken charge, you are entitled to a full refund. No deadline applies to a claim of this kind. This reflects our obligations regarding the quality and conformity of digital content under applicable consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the United Kingdom and equivalent provisions of the laws implementing Directive (EU) 2011/83 in the European Union, and it is offered regardless of those obligations because it is the right thing to do.
2. Change of mind: 48 hours from purchase
Separately from the above, if you simply change your mind, you may request a refund within 48 hours of the time your payment is processed ("paid_at"). This period is calculated from the timestamp of payment, which we can verify, and not from when you first open the app, add a secret, or connect Claude Code, none of which we can verify. We set this window at 48 hours, rather than 24, because purchases made late at night are often not opened until the following working day.
3. After 48 hours, no further change-of-mind refunds
Once the 48-hour period in Section 2 has elapsed, refunds for a change of mind are no longer available, except where Section 1 or Section 4 applies. If you are on a monthly plan, you may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. Annual and lifetime purchases are not refunded on a pro-rata basis once the 48-hour window has passed. This reflects the nature of the product: a one-time or low-cost local application with no ongoing service cost to us, priced accordingly, and the 48-hour window above is the mechanism by which we absorb the cost of a genuine change of mind.
4. Your statutory right to cancel, and its waiver
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you may, independently of Sections 1 through 3, ordinarily have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days without giving any reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (UK) or the national laws implementing Directive 2011/83/EU (EU).
Where a contract is for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, that statutory right ends early once we begin supplying the content, provided that you have given express prior consent to that immediate supply and have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of cancellation. This is permitted by Regulation 37 of the 2013 Regulations and by Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU.
We rely on this exception. The product page you buy from, before you complete checkout, states this plainly:
"By completing this purchase, you agree to Claude Keychain's Terms of Use and Refund Policy. Your license key and download link are delivered instantly after payment, and by choosing instant delivery you waive your statutory 14-day cancellation right (UK/EU consumers)."
Completing your purchase after being shown that notice is your express consent to immediate delivery and to losing the 14-day right. From that point, the 48-hour change-of-mind window in Section 2, together with the fault-based right in Section 1, is the applicable policy in place of the statutory 14-day period.
4. Your cooling-off rights, and your subscription cancellation rights
Unlike the UK and EU, U.S. federal law does not give consumers a general right to cancel an online purchase of digital content within a set number of days after buying it. The FTC's "Cooling-Off Rule" (16 CFR Part 429) applies to certain in-person sales away from a seller's normal place of business; it does not apply to a purchase you make yourself, online, on this site. Some states have narrower cooling-off rules for specific contract types (for example, door-to-door sales, timeshares, or gym memberships), none of which cover a downloaded application like Claude Keychain.
Because there is no statutory cooling-off period to waive, Sections 1 through 3 above (fault-based refunds with no time limit, and a 48-hour change-of-mind window) are not a substitute for a legal right, they are the entire policy: we are not required by federal law to offer either, and we choose to offer both anyway. We apply them the same way to every customer, regardless of state.
If you're on the monthly plan, U.S. law increasingly requires sellers of auto-renewing subscriptions to make cancellation at least as easy as signing up, and the FTC's rule to this effect took effect in 2025; California, New York, and a growing list of other states have their own versions of this requirement. In line with that, and regardless of which state you're in: you can cancel your monthly plan at any time, without contacting us, through the customer portal link in your Lemon Squeezy purchase receipt email. Cancelling stops future charges; your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Separately from anything in this policy, your card issuer's own dispute process (typically available for around 120 days from the transaction under Visa, Mastercard, and American Express rules) is available to you like it is for any other card purchase.
How to ask for a refund
Email from the address you used at checkout, and tell us which of the above applies. Add the order number from your Lemon Squeezy receipt if you have it. A person reads and answers every request.
Lemon Squeezy, who processes the payment as our merchant of record, sends the refund back to the card or account you paid with. Your bank or card issuer usually shows it within a few business days.
After a refund
Your license key is switched off. Claude Keychain stops working the next time it checks its license, and you can drag it from Applications to the Trash. Your saved secrets remain in the macOS Keychain on your Mac until you remove them yourself; Claude Keychain does not delete anything from your Keychain as part of processing a refund.
Cash back for posting about Claude Keychain
The month-back offer is separate from this policy. It rebates 100% of the $4 monthly plan only, not yearly or lifetime, and you keep that month. Available in countries where the monthly plan is sold (US, UK, EU).
Your legal rights
Sections 1 through 4 describe how we apply consumer protection law to this product; nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the law of the country in which you live, including any right relating to digital content that is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.
Who you are dealing with
Lemon Squeezy is our merchant of record: they process the payment and issue the refund on our behalf.
